My Valentine to you

All day long my sweetheart follows me around.  In a desperate attempt for my attention she puts her tiny little paws on my legs.  If I ignore her she jumps up and down begging for me to love on her.  When I indulge her and pick her up, she licks my face and curls up in a furry ball on my lap...content and happy as can be.

Here's to wishing you the same.  May you get jumped on, slobbered all over, loved and cuddled with on this Valentine's Day:)

  Love you bunches.
Have a blessed day.

Fergie love

It's pet week at I heart faces.  I just snapped this one the other day.  Her face never changes.  Her expression is always the same.  But I can sense she feels safe, secure and loved in this picture.  Just how she makes us feel.  What would we do without our pets?  She's our baby.

Have a blessed day.

Face the Day

(Click here to see in Etsy)

I've had a painting on my heart. It's of a beautiful sunrise sky outside my window...with the phrase "Face the day". I got started on it yesterday while I periodically checked my messages. Yesterday was a good day. You were all so supportive and gave me some wonderful advice. I really felt your concern and prayers for me. Now if I could carry all of you around in my pocket:)

It's no surprise to learn that a lot of us suffer with seasonal depression. It really is very common, especially in the Midwest. I encourage all of you who suffer with it, to go back and read the comments from my last post. I got some really good tips for how to deal with it. Things I will definitely try. So thank you again.

Now if poor Fergie could "Face the day" with a little more cheer. Poor thing! It's was 2 degrees here today and she hates it. She just limps from one foot to another. Her paws freeze:o I watched her like a hawk and I don't think she peed once until 3:30 this afternoon. Thankfully we haven't had any indoor accidents yet. These booties cost me $40 and they don't even really help. Doesn't she look hilarious??

Have a blessed day.

How can you say no??

See this little face?? How could you get frustrated with that? Well let me tell you how:) For months our finicky little Shih Tzu would refuse to eat her food. I would worry about her because sometimes she would wait days and then she'd get sick and ugh!! I tried mixing her food with cottage cheese like the vet suggested and even that she lost interest in and wouldn't eat. Anyway I finally took her back to the vet and apparently...

They
have food just for SHIH TZU'S!! This is how picky they are. Who knew?? Anyway this tiny little bag of food cost $18.99! I'm a little freaked out by that because she's already eaten almost half of it in just over a week! Oh the things we do for those we love:)

Have a blessed day.

The Dog Whisperer

The other day I came downstairs and saw Little Chick on the couch with what I thought was a stuffed animal...

Illinois - july 09 001

WRONG Illinois - july 09 006

She had Fergie in her grip.  You see Little Chick is what we like to call the "dog whisperer" because for some reason she can control Fergie's emotions.  It's like she is under a spell and will just lay in her arms and be perfectly still for hours.  It's amazing.

Have a blessed day.

I am experimenting with Windows Live Writer for the first time.  Let me know if you have worked with it before and if you know how to do anything cool. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Fergie's Spa Day

I have to admit that Fergie is our baby. She is just a really special little creature. I've never seen such an affectionate sweet spirited dog. She knows when I need love. Does that make sense? There's just nothing like that unconditional quiet companion. It was hard, needless to say, to leave her for a week while we went to Palm Springs. We boarded her and I thought my honey was gonna cry as we pulled away from the kennel place. She was a little shaggy and had hair poking in her eyes when we got back, so today was SPA DAY.
Our groomer's name is Julie and she is just THE sweetest person ever. I swear one day I drove up to get Fergie and the window was open and she was carrying her around talking to her just like a little person. She is the best! Fergie loves her too. Matter of fact she loves everyone...there is absolutely no loyalty. Doesn't matter who you are she will love you. Now if we could all take notes and act like her the world would be a better place.

Have a blessed day!

Fergie's booties

Did I mention it's cold here? After a long hard battle with our furry creature, Fergie has won out. I made the trek to Petsmart yesterday for a pair of booties. I searched high and low for the last pair of booties, only to discover that they were $45 (ouch)! She bucked like a bronco when we put them on her. It was seriously the funniest thing I have ever seen. I should have taped it. After all that she still had an accident in the house today. Oh how I miss the good old days with our walks around the block:-)
