Not sure if it's because I'm PMSing or what, but I'm feeling very emotional. I keep having the word Blessed bounce around in my mind. I recently had a birthday and I was fortunate enough to have my mom and dad here. We all went out early that morning and got donuts. Which if you follow along you know is a VERY special treat in our house:)
My family makes me feel important and loved. They make a fuss over me and I know with all my heart they want my dreams to come true. I just feel overwhelmingly blessed. Thank you Lord for giving me parents who dote on me. Thank you for giving me a husband that is sentimental and compassionate...for girls who look up to me and throw their arms around my neck and tell me they love me soooo much.
I need them.
I need you.
So here's to another year. To appreciate all that I've been given and to really embrace my everyday blessings. I don't want to ever take them for granted:)

p.s. I was lucky to have my brother and seven kids visit me from Montana. I felt really special, that they took the time to stop and say hi. I cried so hard when they left. My kids wondered what was wrong with me.
Becky, Guess we are on the same page emotionally b/c I've been following your posts about your trip to Hawaii and I feel the exact same way about that wonderful gift from God called Hawaii. So glad to hear your heart felt the same as mine when I was there. I'm a former IL farm country girl, (Plainfield) although it's not so country any longer. I so enjoyed reading about your parents and their visit. Love the poems. I leave notes in my daughter's lunch, too. She says I'm dorky for doing it, but the other day I opened a drawer in her room, and there was a stack of my notes I had put in her lunch box. Made me cry. I always get emotional when I visit one of my family members and then its time to leave...especially when I visit my brother in Toronto,or when my son was living there too.
Even though you've been so happy to have been with them, the good-byes until we see each other again are always so sad.
And after the tears, theres the thankfullness of having shared precious moments with them...
