Faux Tin Backsplash

(Before)
I thought I would show you some pictures of any easy kitchen redo. I have a couple of friends who had tin backsplashes in their kitchens and it was just beautiful. I love the look of anything vintage, so this idea really appealed to me. Both of them said it was a pretty time consuming job. The tin is really hard to work with.
(After)
I was at Home Depot not long after that and found some "faux" tin. It was the easiest thing to work with. Seriously I did the entire kitchen myself in about 4 hours!! It was relatively inexpensive as well. I think I spent maybe $200. The sheets cut easily with scissors and I just nailed it to the wall. You can use glue too. Instant makeover:)

I came here via Tip Junkie and I'm so glad I did! :) I LOVE how this looks! I have a very similar kitchen, with oak cabinets and dark formica countertops but it's just a bit boring and needs some flair until I get up the nerve to paint the cabinets. This backsplash might be just the ticket! Where in Home Depot did you find the 'faux tin'?

Very cool! I love it! I have a client that wants to do this but paint in copper. I will send her your blog address.

Thanks!

I have been wondering about this stuff. I wanted to do the same thing as you but wasn't sure about it. Thanks for this post. I will be heading to Lowes this week.

This is absolutely terrific! How did you do the light sockets? I want to try this at home! Do you think nails are the way to go so it can be removed at some point down the road?

Love this! We are moving into our home we just bought and I have been contemplating between faux tile, beadboard or mosaic tile...I am definetly leaning more towards this! Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Hugs to you,
