out of the gray

I'd pretty much sworn off guest posting.  It's a lot of extra work and it feels like no one really reads them.  When I go to someone's blog honestly I go to read what they have to say.  So when I was asked recently to write something for Tiffani's Word-Women Wednesday's I was surprised at how quickly I said YES.  There has been something on my heart for a long time now and it just seemed a good fit.

This is kind of a touchy topic.  Have you noticed lately a complete gray area with right and wrong? No one seems willing to stand up for what they believe in anymore.  I'm not really sure people even know what they believe in.  If you are a Christian you are Christ's follower.  We follow his example.  He didn't just choose to be around godly people, actually he picked some pretty flawed men to be in his posse, BUT that didn't mean that he became like them.  We are supposed to stand apart, to be different.  We are called as his followers to be salt and light.  There should be something so unique and special about our walk that people are drawn to us and ultimately to HIM.  This doesn't mean we walk around like religious zealots pushing our views down people's throats.  It just means that we do as he taught us in his word and know what we believe as believers.  Our lives might be the only Bible others ever read, but do we know what the actual Bible says?  It's very clear, very straight to the point...no gray.  To read the rest click here

Have a blessed day.

  9. Whoa! You just kicked me and several billion other people in the butt. I am struggling with this exact thing daily, Becky. Daily!
It says in Revelation that in the last days good will be seen as evil and evil will be seen as good. It stinks! But that's what the Bible has prophesied.
I'm loving your heart even more today. xx

  10. I loved it Becky! So true. I feel the same way. Everyone talks of being tolerant. We are not called to be tolerant but to be loving. There is a difference. I said before, God cares more about our holiness than our happiness..yet the world just wants everyone to be happy. Love your words girl!

  13. Great post Becky! I totally agree with what you're saying. The very first thing that I thought of when I read this was abortion, a topic I just can't even fathom that anyone could think was right. And it's something that a lot of people don't want to talk about because of political correctness.

  16. Great Post! So true. I think it's scary. Don't you know that Satan loves it when we, as Christians, mix in with the world?! I love that you brought this up. We are suppose to be in the world...but not of the world! Great job!

question..do you do custom cuffs? I was looking this morning and it would seem impossible to choose one. I want to get one for myself but not sure what I want on it. You have so many good words!

  21. Fabulous. Thanks for sharing your heart. I completely agree. With my career, I often feel like people look at me weird when I don't agree with 'the crowd'. Some probably question what I'm doing in this job then. It's because I'm here for the students, not to go with what everyone else is doing. Even though I can't really proclaim His truth verbally in my work environment, I can definitely share by my actions (or opposite actions) and the words I use and how I use them.
Thanks for the reminder to boldly stand up for what I believe, since Jesus boldly died for my sins.

  27. do you even have time to keep up with everyones comments? :) You would love the book "Radical" I have struggled with this very subject being back at school with alot of very young and very free thinking people. I have found a strength I never knew I had, now of course I laugh at inappropriate things sometimes because I just don't know what else to do...lol. I feel blessed to know that as a Christian I am not free of sin but I am free to choose not to sin. Sometimes it just takes time, thankfully God has given it to me.

  30. I was away and I missed this post until now. Becky- YOU ARE SO RIGHT ON THIS! I've been thinking about this lately with a heavy heart. I often think of the saying, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!"
