my "forever" connection

I've made a new friend.  She blogs.  She lives close.  She's sweet as honey, and so fun to be around, but she's moving!  Why God why???

Jill, me and Suzanne

I met Jill last Fall at the Junk Bonanza.  She was actually my in real life "blog stalker"...ha;)  Remember when I said someone recognized me at the gym and emailed me later in the day saying she saw me?? Well that was Jill.  She made me smile to myself all day long:)  Well she's moving to Portland and it makes me really sad.

I finally got a peek inside her beautiful "forever cottage" and thought I'd share some of her home with you before she's off to greener pastures.

She's really great at putting little collections together.

Her style is soft and sweet.  It's very feminine with muted soft shades of cream, grey-blue and beige's...

but then she'll have great pops of color like these big pillows and that bright throw in the corner.  See the blue slippers on the wall under the little mirror?  That's an original Janet Hill.  LOVE Janet Hill!!

I've only just begun getting to know this sweet gal.  I'm going to miss her...can't really think about it.  So not fair meeting her right before she moves away.  But the really cool thing about blogging is that no matter where you live you still have that connection.   You more or less take your friends right with you...at least she better;)

Have a blessed day.

  1. Oh, so sad! It's hard when friends move away! But you can always head back over to the West coast and visit her and Lissa all in one weekend! ;-)
(I'm assuming you mean Portland, Oregon?)
I LOVE her cottage, thanks for sharing! It's really nicely put together, she has a great eye for colors, coziness, and style. The "bones" of the house look great too~ love the windows, moulding, cabinets, etc. Is it an older home?

  2. Wait...you said it is her forever home?
But she is leaving.... It must have been a sort- of-for-a-while home : )
How cool to have a stalker. You are a super star!

  3. I'm sorry for you that she's moving. I am going to be meeting a few bloggers for the first time. Having lunch with some of the girls. So looking forward to making that "real life" connection after months of emails and blog readings. If you think about it, it's really different to meet someone for the first time that already knows so much about your from your blog. It's like a "quick start" friendship.

  15. That's so hard! :( (Moving is hard!) Her home is just beautiful! At least now when you go to Seattle you have an excuse to swing by Portland.

I know, they're probably not even near each other, are they?? lol

  20. Hi girl! I've been taking a hiatus from blogland, but just read through your lovely blog to see what's been going on. I just want you to know I love and appreciate your music so much that I've left it up at my work desk so I can listen all afternoon. :) Hope you're well. Great photos, too.

  24. Such a gorgeous home! I would love to move in! She must be sad to be leaving it! And it is always sad when a friend moves away! It is funny because I always wonder why there are no bloggers living in Massachusetts! I guess I will have to move to the midwest! :)

  31. Yay, house tours are back! I like the house tours. And yes, someday I want a Janet Hill original. You know I had two friends in my 3d life, who also blog, move away. And their blogs have allowed me to keep in touch, to still be a part of their lives.
