This one is under our kitchen table. I saw this design in a magazine somewhere. The rugs are made from canvas material that are cut to size and hemmed with double sided tape. They are primed 2-3 times and then the latex base coat is applied. I use acrylic paints for the design and seal the top coat with 2-3 coats of polyeurethane. Last but not least I buff with bowling alley wax. This helps seal and protect the rug from wear and the elements.Monday, December 29, 2008

I love your floorcloths! I have been thinking and planning on making a couple of them, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Can I ask - What kind of canvas do you use? Where do you get it? I've read some people just use dropcloths, and other people say you have to have a really heavy weight canvas. I'm curious what you've used. I love your designs and the wonderful colors. :)
OMG Rainbow! *steals*
... you didn't see anything! ...
This is fun to look at this project, I haven't thought of floorcloths in years! When I had my first son, one of my 'get rich quick' schemes was to make and sell floorcloths! They really are a fun way to brighten up your space :)
very cute floorcloths! while I'm leaving this comment, I can't help but look over there

I love your floor cloths! I also wonder where to get the canvas. Are there different grades of canvas available? Bowling alley wax?!? I wouldn't even know where to look for that! LOL!
