I surrendered my life to Him in November of 1998. I was baptized on the 15th at the age of 16. He drew me in when I was at such an influential age. I was running in the complete wrong direction. Praise His Holy Name for caring for me enough to stop me in my tracks.
Every year I look forward to that day and watch the mail for an encouraging card from the minister who baptized me. Thank you for sharing this special day in your journey and prompting me to remember mine. Blessings to you. This is the sweetest thing. I don't remember when I asked Jesus to come into my heart but I do remember the exact moment I decided to ask him back into my heart after an adolescence away from Him... I was 21 and I was stubborn. I was angry and confused and questioning my dad about the existence of God. I'm not sure why but my dad asked me this little question and for some reason it stuck and cord in me that changed my life forever. He said, "Baby, why are you fighting against God?" After that my life was changed and happier than ever.Ashley Schotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16990858895171029553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3812834706420893840.post-48573730341913022982009-12-31T09:20:11.240-05:002009-12-31T09:20:11.240-05:00I love that your mom wrote it on a piece of paper!...I love that your mom wrote it on a piece of paper! I sometimes wish I had a specific time to look back on, but having grown up in Church my entire life, I think it was a long process of me truly realizing what it meant to be saved as an individual, apart from my family. If that makes any sense! I don't remember any specific dates, but I do remember the seasons in my life where God revealed Himself to me.
Thanks for sharing this, I so look forward to rejoicing with you in Heaven one day. :)LeAnnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10360378882035668129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3812834706420893840.post-62537873554314853512009-12-31T09:13:13.046-05:002009-12-31T09:13:13.046-05:00what a sweet memory and momento! I wanted to be a 'good girl' and I was fairly successful in that, always had 'what would Jesus do' echoing in the back of my head....
It wasn't until college that I had a real heart understanding of His immesurable GRACE and how he required my WHOLE heart devoted to Him above all other life pursuits and desires. He was more interested in my heart attitude toward him than what I did or didn't do (although he did care about those things too).Heidi of Operation Organization https://www.blogger.com/profile/07463448328759787010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3812834706420893840.post-63338048302936759972009-12-31T09:07:44.572-05:002009-12-31T09:07:44.572-05:00My new birthday is December 17th, 1998. At 8 I understood I wanted God's love and never to be separated from it and accepted Christ as my Savior. In 2003, after tons of odds and ends behind me - God got my attention big time and since has been the most complex, challenging and wonderful stuff EVER in my relationship with God (Jehovah) the Father, through Yeshua - Christ my savior. My husband (then boyfriend) and I had ...Yes, I do! My husband (then boyfriend) and I had been meeting with a young pastor, doing a Bible study. Neither of us had made a commitment to the Lord at that time. We were simply getting questions answered. It was New Years Eve, 1990 and we had just been intimate. As we layed there talking, I asked him if he thought God was unhappy with what we had just done, especially since we were not married. He said, "Yes, I believe God is extremely sad right now." I was overcome with grief and remorse. We both experienced a change in our hearts that night. We decided to get married and we decided to remain apart until then. I specifically gave my life to Jesus that night and have not looked back. Rick had already and used that opportunity for repentence. It turned into a beautiful celebration of renewal and new beginnings!

Happy Birthday to you, Sister in Faith!

Blessings~
PaulaPaulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14740773134565352607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3812834706420893840.post-14096189226750264852009-12-30T22:35:53.572-05:002009-12-30T22:35:53.572-05:00thanks for the comments today on my blog...so swee...thanks for the comments today on my blog...so sweet of you!
and what a sweet story you shared...just love reading your blog! Two Little Totshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14439966692503491884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3812834706420893840.post-74143433558322047292009-12-30T22:11:03.516-05:002009-12-30T22:11:03.516-05:00Every time something wonderful happens, I hope wit...Every time something wonderful happens, I hope with all my heart that I won't forget... :) Thank goodness our God is patient with us!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3812834706420893840.post-88039308214126632812009-12-30T21:01:46.323-05:002009-12-30T21:01:46.323-05:00what a sweet momma you have! happy birthday!!what a sweet momma you have! happy birthday!!Janahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07355418492075195689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3812834706420893840.post-81391094640311207282009-12-30T20:38:33.408-05:002009-12-30T20:38:33.408-05:00That is awesome!! I...Becky, what a special story, and a special day! I don't know the exact day, but it was in August, 1967 and I was 15. My small country church was having a week long revival, and my dad was on the road and my mom couldn't come because we had a horse about to foal. She drove my grandmother and me to the church and promised to come get us after the service. It was a hot, clammy, stormy, very rainy night, you know - one of those nights when your clothes clinged to you and you felt dirty. I stood at my pew, singing the invitation along with the rest of the congregation. And suddenly I knew I had to go to the altar and lay my sins down before God. I honestly don't remember leaving the pew or walking down the aisle, but I do remember the feeling of cleansing! I was cleansed, I was free, I was a new being, made new through Christ! A couple of my friends were saved that night too, and we went into the restroom to wash the tears from our faces, and we just rejoiced together. And that night I didn't want to go to sleep, I was so afraid the feeling would go away. But to this day, that feeling hasn't left me! His mercy is new every morning! Blessings sweetie, BeckyBecky Garrisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03124407753367247995noreply@blogger.com
