Mulan is officially over! Yippee. Mom and dad made it in for the last weekend. I love the effort they put into being good grandparents. That drive is not an easy one and yet they came.
I can't tell you what a blessing it was to see my girlie pursue, follow through and see a dream to fruition. I am beyond proud of her! It's something we did together. It's a new chapter for us both. Just look at those little girls staring up at Big Chick. She got to feel famous for a second. Love that!
Woke up this morning to our first snow. Can't believe it waited until the end of February. The heavy wet snow covered every little leaf and branch. I always loved that look. As we were coming home from the show last night the flakes were coming hard and fast. Visibility was horrible. If you veer off the road at all you are smack into the ditch or in a tree, so I can see why the world comes to a stop here when it snows.
As I type this I can see it falling off the trees...melting into the earth. As it should be! Tomorrow it will be in the 60's...weirdest winter I've ever experienced. If you can even call it winter. I'll be running around with my folks this week...showing them Richmond, working on some projects, making memories with my people. Hope you enjoy every last drop of your week too;)
Have a blessed day.

I know what you mean about the snow, but you'll get used to it. We moved to NC from Michigan back in 1983; it was a shock to see how even a little bit of snow closed everything in Raleigh and how folks lined up at the store for provisions at the merest hint of the stuff. Now I savor our brown southern winter. We didn't get much here in the Oxford area, around an inch or two perhaps, and it's almost gone.
Lovely photos of your parents and children, Becky. Blessings indeed. Whenever I wish that my parents were still alive, especially now that I have a grandson, the Lord reminds me that my mother and father knew little Joshua up there before he was born. I don't understand how that happens, but it surely is wonderful! There's so much in this life to treasure. As I often tell people, we get all this and heaven, too! Have a blessed and bountiful day!
Nice pictures! It has been a crazy 'winter', even here in the north! ;) Enjoy the time with your folks! :)
Thank you for your kind words, prayers and 'hugs'! ♥
So pretty that snow is, have a great week with your parents.
So sweet! I know you are so proud of your girl! Have a fun week with your family! I am not a bit jealous of your snow!
Have a blessed time with your parents!
My daughter LOVED the bracelet...and it even came right on her birthday! God is so good!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. :)

It is a tough drive. I don't think my parents will be making the drive out east anymore. It's a long way. I thank YOU for bringing the warm winter. MN wanted to make sure you missed them. :)
It's a weird winter in SD too. I woke up to it snowing this morning. Something I haven't seen in a while! although it's not the first snow... it's been oddly warm here for the past couple of months. I'm not complaining though!
glad you are having fun this week with your parentals! i know that must be a treat. i agree, weirdest winter here, too... felt more like a cold spring. a little snow, though, is always good for the soul. : )
They keep promising us snow here in England but it's yet to happen!Poor Ben, still with his sledge from Christmas sat in the corner.Rx

My parents are, too! :)
enjoy your time with them....glad you got snow...wish we had it!!!!
Oh, Becky, I know exactly what you are feeling with your parents visiting. I felt it so many times as I lived away for years and years and then my parents retired and moved here. I was blessed to have 10 wonderful years before my Mom passed away. Enjoy! Enjoy!
Have a wonderful week!
Hey Sweetie ~
Funny to see you
with snow when we
have hardly had any!
I know you are going
to soak all the goodness
of having your parents
there, to the last drop.
Savor it.
Congrats to M for a
job well done!!!
xx Suzanne
Those snow pics are absolutely amazing! We're getting some gorgeous snow here as I write. Betting school might be canceled tomorrow because of it. Time to cozy in!
I hope you have a wonderful time with your parents visiting you...as I know you will.
Grandparents (me included) love nothing better then participating somehow in what our children and granchildren do. Best things ever.
We have had a very mild winter too, but we ALSO got a snow storm last night. weird eh
Pretty pictures! And yes, this weather is so bizarre, isn't it? Your girls look adorable.
enjoy your family!
:)
our winter has been the SAME way
xo
That's exactly the same kind of snow we have here. I'm always so excited to see it come, and happier still to see it leave. I hope you guys have a great time making memories with your sweet parents!
Love you!
Sasha
How sweet of your mom and dad to travel over for the final performance...that's what memories are made of! Love your snowy pictures! Sure wish we'd gotten some down here in Georgia, but I don't think it's going to happen...sniff, sniff!
Hope your family all enjoy every moment that you are together. Loved your photos Becky. :)

hi becky, Love your photos. would you share what lens you use for the close ups? I just got a new camera and i'm debating on getting a 50mm lens everyone tells me that i need it to have the blurred background. your thoughts?
Hi Becky I used a 1.8, 50mm. It was approx. $100. Best money I ever spent. Love my 50.
Everything looks so pretty in the snow. We got to spend some time in the mountains yesterday in it, but nothing like yours. What wonderful Grandparents to make the trip. Enjoy your time with them!
Some special memories are being made...enjoy!!
Enjoy your loved ones! :)
Oh my gosh I'm so jealous--- I am still waiting on snow :( I dont think we are going to get any this year!!!
All those fun moments add up to a great life as a family, eh?
Fondly,
Glenda
No matter what age, it is always wonderful when your parents make an effort to experience their child's life in thier child's new home. I love it when my parents come for a visit even though I feel my life here in VB is more boring than their PA life.
As for a weird winter...I know. I'm a fan of four seasons, so a little more snow would have been nice, but I am grateful for the taste and snowball fight we had a week or so ago!
Happy Wednesday! Enjoy Exploring with your folks!
Winter has been like that here, too. One day 20 degrees and the next 52! Today is shaping up to be wonderful...sunny and warm. I am headed on a walk in the late afternoon:)
What a wonderful gift your parents are giving your daughters...the gift of time. So very important. Both of my kids are involved in drama...I love it!
