I've had one of those mornings, you know the kind where absolutely nothing goes according to plan. How can I say this delicately...hmmmm knocking my beads off my jewelry table not once but TWICE is just CRAP! Okay there I said it. Can you even imagine the mess of about a million beads going every which way on vinyl flooring. Picking it all up on a filthy, sawdust strewn floor and then turning around 10 minutes later and doing it again!!!! Deep breath;)
The whole time I just wanted to cry. I don't have time for this Lord...why on earth did you allow that to happen...not once but TWICE! Seriously I'm trying to find the lesson in it. It must just be my day for frustration. I can't access my email account on my computer either. Deep breath!!!
Life is just like that alot isn't it?? I went to the gym the other day and forgot my hairdryer. I had to stand with my head under one of those high powered hand dryers. You know the one that sounds like a jet plane and about takes the skin off of your hands?? Nice...looked like I had stuck my finger in an electrical outlet;) I guess it's how we roll when crap happens...when mistakes are made. Do we have a fit and act like a baby, or do we get on our hands and knees, and pick up the pieces and start all over again and again? I think it's break time. Love you girls...thanks for letting me vent.
Have a blessed day.
252. grace, grace and grace
253. giving it over
254. praising Him despite my mood
255. that my biggest problems are so so small!

I think just about every day last week was like that for me. A mouthy teenager that picks her senior year to totally freak out and act like she's a completely different person. yeah, not fun. but it happens. Crap happens.
ReplyDeletethankfully we have a Father to lean on, to fall into. :o)
praying your day gets WAY better!!
Oh crap! Hate that little stuff that all builds on each other til it just about kills ya. Seek joy, sweet sister :)
ReplyDeleteHugs friend... the day only gets better.
ReplyDeleteOh, poop!
ReplyDeleteHope this makes you laugh. Sometimes a deep breath and a laugh are just what we need. And I'll bet you'll see the lesson here in no time :) Can't wait to hear your explanation. Although I think you're already on to it by "getting on your knees and picking up the pieces".
Here's to a fresh start ~
Kelly
sending you a great BIG {hug} this Monday!!- and a little prayer that your day goes better!- I know the feeling- last week was a doozie!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving sweet friend!
Blessings,
Jill
oh girl, we all have days like this...days we just want to yell out this is all CRAP! hang in there darling! Hugs! T
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you Becky. I had a baking disaster in the kitchen yesterday. I was attempting a new recipe for my blog and it did not turn out well. It was with marshmallows and let me say it was one big sticky mess! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteThe good thing was I baked something else that turned out great and I got to go see Breaking Dawn, so each day does have it's silver linings. We always have to remember that and focus on the good things that happen each day amongst the little disasters!
Hey! Where are you in Virginia? I'm in Roanoke!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer! I dont like days like that, but good thing His mercies are new every morning...or perhaps every moment : ) Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYep, stuff happens. I think you will be ok. Your stuff sounds like stuff you can recover from. Breath, it's almost Thanksgiving. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, Girl.
ReplyDeleteI'm having that day today, becky. sigh.
ReplyDeletei do kind of feel like whining and crying about it!!
I seriously am having a similar day. Good news is there is a date night at the end of it. Yippee! Uninteruppted time with my hubby. Thank you God!
ReplyDeleteHoping tomorrow is better.
yep- we get on our hands and knees and pick up all those crazy pieces...sometimes we curse them- and sometimes we roll with them...
ReplyDeleteour kitty leapt across my desk today & everything but the laptop flew off onto the floor- of course I cursed the cat- only to find that she had *found* my long lost cheque book for me...she was loved big after that!!
So sometimes the pieces falling works for us...

oh sister..yes break time. we all need them and they are oh so good for our souls. to just breathe and be and enjoy all that we have at the moment. i went to bed last night and thought about how our life really is like a vapor and how i take for granted that i will wake up the next morning. and what if i didn't would i have done anything different that day. it sure is putting life in perspective for me. big time. you are not alone in your venting for i to go through the same things lately and yes, i think it is a lesson for me..so i am taking the time to learn it among much chaos over this next week.
ReplyDeleteenjoying your breathing and may it be sweet breaths. enjoy your thanksgiving with your sweet family.

At church one Sunday our Priest told us the story of St. Catherine of Siena and howone day she was riding a horse and just kept falling off. And finally she stopped and commented to the Lord, "No wonder you have so few friends, you keep knocking them off their horse!"
ReplyDeleteYour story about the beads reminds me that sermon.
Get back on your horse, sweetie! God is only doing it because he loves you!
here's the lesson... just be glad my babies weren't around when those beads fell. that would've sucked majorly... and speaking of crap, i think i would be finding beads in their diapers for weeks. ha! hope your day ended better, even if you had frizzified hair. and i know you still looked pretty even so!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya...I just posted about stressing...
ReplyDeleteI will have JOY in all things...even though its really hard some days ;)
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!
Rec'd the bracelet today...It is GREAT!!! Thank you so much.
Thanks for the reminder! Although I didn't drop my beads... I did start the day with unexpected snow (light) on the ground, a flat tire at lunch time, and a computer that didn't work (at work). Deep breath.... Be thankful for all the good things I have!

PS... Fortunately, I don't blow dry my hair but I do have to dry my bangs... not sure a handdryer would work too well but the image does make me smile :)
Thank you for seeing this as a lesson...even if the lesson isn't yet clear. I feel so happy and blessed for us because at the end of a crap day, we have our Abba Father standing there with outstretched arms, ready to comfort us. PTL!
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I rec'd a card that said: "It's easy to frown when your world turns upside down.....(inside) But the person worthwhile is the one who can smile when her sandwich falls jelly-side down!"
Rejoice and KEEP SMILIN' on those "jelly-side down" days!
Awww those crazy days:O)Ive had recently the day E600 glue spilled out of every hole possible and my hands and everything i touched , stuck:( lets just say i was very frustrated. Im being more careful now.Handblower used to dry hair...funny your hair must have gone all in one direction:O) have an awesome day today:O)
ReplyDeleteI'm not laughing at you but with you! I love how you explain how crap happens! he he Isn't that the way it goes....when it rains it pours. I've been there so many times and will be there many more times I'm sure. At least you can laugh and make fun of yourself... that is what we must do. So many mornings on my way out to the car to go to work (and I'm usually running a bit late!) my purse handle often gets stuck on the house door handle. I'm surprised I haven't ripped off the handle on my purse by now. I hope my neighbors haven't been watching, because they are probably saying, "hey it's time for her to be coming out her door. Let's watch her almost rip off the handle of her purse again! Maybe it will really happen this time!" ha
ReplyDeleteLove ya Becky!
Know we are all in this together!

I am sorry for your morning, Becky. We have all had those days and I think it is God speaking to me in a way that will grab my attention at the moment. Maybe he is saying "Slow Down" or "You don't have to do and be everything for everyone,"...who knows. I have a very bad habit of talking to other drivers and quite frankly get irritated with them easily. Several years ago, I remember being mad at some bozo who pulled out in front of me and slowed down my too fast driving. I remember thinking that maybe that "bozo" was my guardian angel slowing me down for some reason. Changed my perception. Hope your day gets better...at least your floor is clean now?
ReplyDeleteDid you look carefully at this? Perhaps you had a brilliant new bead pattern on the floor that was shouting "Pick Us Up and use us!" Two times? Oh Becky, I probably would have gone for a hot chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered that myself...what the "lesson" must be. I think there are two lessons to learn 1. It's a test of patience and 2. Shit days make us appreciate the non-shit days. :-) Those are my wise words of the day. Oh, and rest easy knowing you aren't the only one that stuff happens too. I say you deserve a break for sure...
ReplyDeleteAw sweetie ~ that just sucks! If this ever happens again (fingers crossed it doesn't) try putting panty hose over the nozzle of the vaccum and suck them up ~ it may make things a bit easier. Aren't those hand dryers scary ~ used one last night ~ I can only imagine what your hair would look like ~ yikes! When crap like that happens to me I usually sit down ~ have a little pity party then brush myself off and go back at it. Hope the day got better. xo
ReplyDeleteToday was that day for me! Usually I take a nap to soothing worship music, but lately it makes me feel like running. Unfortunately today is a totally rainy day.
ReplyDeleteI love your honest style Becky! Thanks for sharing with us the way you do.
Sorry you had a bad day. Hope this break will do you good. I know it will me! Stop on over and enter my giveaway. Maybe that will brighten your day. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeletesometimes i think these things are meant to teach us patience. shew... but how frustrating! i've forgotten many necessities at the gym. underwear, socks, belts, shampoo-but the worst is the towel, and i usually only notice what i've forgotten right when i need it... so to be soaking wet and have no towel? that's the worst! :) hope it's gotten better... and it looks like it has! :)
