I'm going to sell at a show. A REAL SHOW. I will be a vendor...ME! Little ol' me at an amazing local show. It's in less than a month and I have a whole LOT to do. I'm terrified. It's always been one of those things I've been really afraid to do. Talk about putting yourself out there. Geesh! I'm much more comfortable hiding behind my computer screen and Etsy store. But alas the day has come and I'm goin' for it.
I know a few things about myself...I can be a self sabotager. I do it with my weight and lots of things. I strive and work hard and then when the time comes to see results sometimes I fizzle. I choke. I become overwhelmed and paralyzed. So pray for me. Pray that I can pull this off and get all my stuff made...oh and the big kicker is I leave for Seattle to visit Lissa and Sasha in the midst of my push. So yeehaw. I better get off here and get to crackin'. Hopefully not literally...HA! Oh and girl's watch out...when you're not looking your dreams WILL come true! God has a way of sneaking them up on you:)
Have a blessed day.

don't bring edgy becky with you... ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you posted that! hahaha
Can't wait to see you.
i'm so very happy for you!
Dear Heavenly Father,
ReplyDeleteI pray that you will surround Becky with love and peace as she begins a new journey. A crazy journey that you have placed before her. I pray that she will feel encouraged and driven and accomplished and thankful for your blessing! Father you will never give us more than we can handle, show Becky that she is more than capable and that she has no need to fear!
If you bring us to it, you'll bring us through it!
AMEN!
Biz
Congrats! That's really exciting news. You'll do great. Maybe you could create a timeline of how many items you need to have made each day or weekly... that way, a little bit at a time is less overwhelming than a whole lot all at once. Good luck! I think you'll amaze yourself with what you'll be able to accomplish. :)
ReplyDeleteyou are going to rock that market!
ReplyDelete"ALRIIIIIIGHT" becky... so awesome! way to go!

ReplyDeleteHow awesome for you! You are a truly remarkable woman and I have no doubt you will be a huge success (as you already are in so many ways). Just have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteCool opportunity! Shows are a great way to meet people and be inspired. Lots of work, but fun. I'm a total scardy cat and a really good at the sabotaging thing, so I know what you mean. But I usaully work better if I have a deadline, for me I might be up two whole nights before but something usaully kicks in. I hope it's wonderful experience for you! I'll say a prayer for you :]
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
Hooray for you. You will ROCK the show. God is good. I'm glad you see it. I'm still watching and waiting with HOPE. ENJOY your moment.
ReplyDeleteYou will do great taking this opportunity! We cannot grow until we take risks and start new adventures. I actually am doing a show today and while it is not my first show, I still get just as nervous and self-doubting as ever. God only opens doors for us that he knows that we are ready for. You will do great! I recently saw one of your paintings at my friend Janie's house. I love it! Good luck with your show!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, what exciting news!
ReplyDeleteedgy becky eh?? no way........you are just so cute in that picture I swear.....and I'm so glad to see you branching out! and selling more!!

You will do great! My sisters & I (with Mom as our super helper) dove in last year as vendors with our furniture business & it's great fun! You meet new friends, and when people love your stuff - it makes it all worthwhile! Best of luck :)
ReplyDeleteThat is SO exciting Becky, you've come a long way baby LOL!!!! And of course you will do brilliantly.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo of you too :)
becky~ it sounds like you are going to have so much fun. i wish i lived by you so i could come to your event, maybe you should host a little mini show here in seattle when you come!! i'm jealous as crazy over my sister in laws cuff!! i may need to get one soon!
ReplyDeleteThat's great - and maybe you won't take "Edgy Becky" with you, rather maybe it'll be "Becky, with an edge!".
ReplyDeleteYou'll have fun...
Oh I know that feeling. The very first day I opened my antique store I worried , will they like me?? Trust me they will love you! You have amazing talent and with your personality, you are a shoe-in!! I am praying!!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be great!!!!! So excited for YOU!!!!!
ReplyDeletexo,
LuLu
You will do GREAT at the show, you have nothing to worry about because you are fabulously talented!! Take lots of pictures and have a great time in Seattle.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, stepping out and living brave like one of your cuffs says!
ReplyDeleteI have done a few tiny markets (nothing as awesome sounding as yours), and my resolution now is to work like fury for them, but when the day comes, be aware that some you sell lots, some you don't - it is a bit random and needs lots of calm and some realistic expectations. Don't big it up toooo much in your head is I guess what I'm saying, enjoy the experience but remember sales can be amazing or lousy or anywhere between due to so many factors beyond your control, but your stuff - that IS fabulous, the quality of it is the same whether or not the market has lots of ready spenders or not. I think I may be being a bit British and cautious, but I do think it is brilliant you are going for it, your products are really original and stylish, so I think your stall will be utterly wonderful and impossible to walk past!
You will be awesome. Just be you. That's it. Do your best and give God the rest. xo-B.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to ROCK this thing!
ReplyDeleteps- Seattle sounds like some Big Fun!! Give hugs from me.
Oh, I'm so happy for you! That is so exciting. I will keep you in my prayers and I know exactly how to pray for you because you sound like me. I'm so relating. I know you can do it even if you're doing it scared! YOU GO GIRLIE!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, what a great opportunity! Rely on God and He and you can do it! LOVE that picture of you, beautiful! *heart*
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous opportunity, and all I've gotta say is, edgy Becky better get busy, cause she's gonna sell out of cuffs and artwork, that's fer sure! :-)
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Anne
P.S. I'm a self-saboteur, too
I will definitely pray for you Becky! I totally understand where you're coming from. It's always been hard for me to take the leap into new things, but I usually have fun if I can jump over the fear gate. God is with you and cheering you on, too! Your are going to be the coolest vendor around! Can't wait to see what awesome doors God has in store through this and other adventures He is planning for you.
ReplyDeleteStay encouraged! You are such an inspiration to so many of us. Mean it! :)

ReplyDeleteWow - how exciting. Hope your first event is a big success - I'm sure it will be with the looks of your adorable stuff on Etsy. Be blessed :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteOh girl, you are going to be AWESOME! Doing a show is a lot of work...but soooo worth it! There is something so nice about mingling with your peeps. Hearing what they like...and what they don't like. It is all good in its own way! Such a great way to learn and for people to get to see the face behind the "computer screen".
ReplyDeleteDon't hide! Show that beautiful face and that incredible personality to the world! You, my friend, are going to kick butt at the show!!!
Have fun with it!
Mary
So Exciting! I'm so happy for you good luck. I'll try to make it out and take a look!
ReplyDeleteBecky ~ congrats on your new endeavor...everything has been pointing that way for you!! You will do great ~ if you feel overwhelmed after you do your first show...you can always find another vendor/friend who can compliment you and you them with your items ...and share the space. That is what I did with my friend ~a few years back and we had a ball!! Have fun with it "brave girl" for as long as it is on your path ~ xo cheryl
ReplyDeleteOh yay for you, Becky! I think it's awesome and you're gonna do great:)
ReplyDeleteI took this step last year; scared to death, but did fairly well for my first attempts. This year I'm putting myself out there even more, doing booths at local farmers markets and outside my friend's small town shop. My motto is now "You can't succeed if you don't start!!!" and am very much looking forward to this spring and summer! You'll be fine, just keep your focus where it belongs . . . on the one who gave you the talent to start with! Blessings, Becky
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome Becky! Congratulations! I hope it is a wonderful show! :)
ReplyDelete:):) love to see Him make dreams come true...let go and go for it!!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip West and try not to think too much about the logistics of the show while you're away.
I think that that is so great Becky! You are going to do amazing! It is very scary and I remember I had a mini panic attack the first vendor event that I had but after that it was so fun! Just remember to have fun, you love what you make and that will come through when you are selling your pieces. :)
ReplyDeletewow, just found your lovely blog!
ReplyDeletei love it when i hear about others stepping out in faith and doing "it" even when they are a tad afraid.
i LOVE your cuffs. God has blessed you with being creative for sure!!!
have a great weekend~
So happy for you! I know this is something you have really wanted to do! Have a wonderful time in Seattle!
ReplyDeleteYou my friend, are going to do AM-A-ZING. I know it!! I'm so proud of you. Your talent flows right out of your hands, and it's going to be FUN to boot! I can't wait to see you. I packed up a ton of things today because my next few weeks are jammed with fun stuff, and I don't want to panic at the end... so when you come, there will be nothing on my walls, and stuff. It will make you laugh. I wish so much you could see the new place! Alright, I have to hit bed for now... love ya darling. Can't wait to play!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. Deadlines are not my friend either and I sabotage myself with good old procrastination. And it seems that the closer I am to the end the more I drag my feet. Look at Seattle aw a reward for hard work and a much needed break. Maybe that will help.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you Becky! And I will pray every day that you rock that show right out of the park! I KNOW you can do it! You have the best support system on the planet! : ) And God! Go, Becky, Go!
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK! You'll be fine, I'm sure... They say that the anxiety helps bring on your best self forward.

ReplyDeleteSomething we have in common: self sabotaging ourselves.
ReplyDeleteBUT! You are NOT going to do that this time. No way girlfriend. You are going to take this bull by the horns and move him where you want him to be....right there doing your thing selling your little heart out.
Do it for you! And do it for those of us who could use the inspiration :)
You CAN do this!
~Lisa
Miss Becky you are going to do awesome! I'm doing a very small craft fair in a month and I'm terrified...and I have a ton to do. I'll be thinking of you... and praying for you. And what's this you meeting up with Lissa and Sasha...I wish I could be there!
ReplyDeleteBec, (yes, we are that close, now. I can call you "Bec.")
ReplyDeleteI've done two shows. The first show I was a nervous wreck and would have been thrilled with just the compliments I was getting but...PEOPLE WERE BUYING MY STUFF!
The second show I did- I just packed up EVERYTHING...some of it just to show technique and put myself out there.
Put yourself out there! XO, Cheryl
