I've been looking for some inspiration...for artwork that is. In my bathroom I had the two little decorative pieces, so I thought I'd reproduce them for some fun artwork.
Before and After
I think it turned out really cute. I painted it on flat canvas board and then framed them with $5.00 frames from Michael's. Can't beat that! They fill in a nice little corner in my master bathroom.
Have a blessed day.
what a lovely touch! You make me want to get out those paintbrushes and watercolors...
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love that top vase, how unique! You've got quite the eye for cute things that make something typically ordinary (like a vase) really pop with color and life. :) Hope you and yours have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! My daughter is really getting into oil painting. My in-laws were art teacher/professors at different points in their lives and she definitely has their genes!

Hi honey!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these paintings, they are wonderful - I cannot draw or paint at all so I am in awe of anyone who has any talent like that all - and you clearly have plenty!
I will follow your advice this week-end....even if it means hiding in the bathroom for 10 mins reading LOL!!
Thanks for all the lovely comments this week, you are MARVELLOUS :)
Happy Week-end! xo

These are gorgeous, Becky. What a gift you have.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your lavender is just lovely. I just started growing my first 4 pots of lavender from seed about two months ago. They're only about 2-3 inches tall. I've always bought lavender oil for it's calming effects (I used to use it in my Kindergarten classroom and it worked WONDERS), so I figure I should just start growing it. We'll see how it goes through the winter.
So sweet!! Must be so gratifying to put paint to canvas. Keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are great! So colorful and cheerful :)
ReplyDeleteOh Becky!!! your paintings are more lovely than the real things!! LOOOVE your color choices!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Blessings!

Oh wow how fab! I do wish I'd inherited that kind of talent from my mom, she's so good at that kind of stuff like you. If i'd painted it it everyone would say 'oh look how cute you framed your daughter's painting' haha!

ReplyDeleteOoo---I love the lavendar. :) You are a talented chickie!
ReplyDeleteAren't play dates the best? I love it when I get to chat with another mom, and the girls have a blast getting some energy out. We've had a few "drop-off" play dates at our house, and they've gone pretty well.
Becky,
ReplyDeleteYou can find recipes for your peppers by looking up chiles rellenos or stuffed poblanos. I saw some good ones over at poblanorecipes.blogspot. I usually cut the top off and scoop the seeds out, remember that's where the heat comes from...don't wipe your eyes! Then I like to fill it with grated cheddar but any cheese will do. Then you just bake at 350 for say 25-30 minutes, this is where I just watch them you want the cheese to get bubbly and crisp and the outside skins to be soft and cooked. Pierce it with a fork to be sure the pepper is totally cooked. I don't use an egg batter like some chili rellenos recipes but the one on that site looked simple. Mmmm, I'm getting hungry writing about this we are missing good tex-mex none to be had here in Canada worth eating but at least we have yummy Greek, Indian, Vietnamese, and more... to make up for it! Enjoy and let me know how it turns out! Jennifer
Becky-
